Jetwing Hotel Vil Uyana 

Jetwing Vil Uyana is owned by Jetwing Hotels, a family-owned company and a leading name in the hotel industry in Sri Lanka. The company started its operations in the 1980s and now it has 22 distinctive properties spread around the country i.e. Negombo, Sigiriya, Galle, Matara, Yala, and Nuwara Eliya. According to the Jetwing Hotels Chairman Mr. Hiran Cooray, “Being green has always been an inherent part of Jetwing - in our very DNA as it were. As such, creating hotels which adhere to environmental considerations was a message instilled in us by our late Chairman Mr. Herbert Cooray and continues to be a strong part of the Jetwing ethos” (PATA Gold Awards, 2012).

Jetwing Vil Uyana is one of the first Jetwing-owned hotels that has started to implement green tourism practices. The hotel is located in Rangirigama, Sigiriya which is 5km away from the ancient Rock Fortress Sigiriya. Jetwing Vil Uyana is built on a man-made wetland, surrounded by two small tanks. The property is considered a private nature reserve.
